We took the dinghy down for the first time on the trip and toured the area. The marina is a bit run down, but we have an outside docking space which has a terrific view.
This is our view from the salon. Being in such a rural environment took some getting used to the first few days, especially with no TV. But now we are getting used to it and are developing a sort of routine. We take long walks on most days. We've worked on the boat a little. Internet access is intermittent, but I've been able to update the blog as you can tell. We've even played cards a few times! We both have gotten to like it here.
This is the marina office from the river. It is tucked in behind an island and is really well protected from the wind and barge traffic.
Layla had a business trip which meant that we had the use of a rental car for a weekend. We went into Nashville one day and Memphis the other. Both were short trips, but we did get to the Ryman Auditoruim which is the original home of the Grand Ole Opry. We walked around the main road, Broadway and had a taste of Honky Tonk.
Dave being his charming self at the Ryman.
