11-6 Anchorage TN River to Cuba Landing Marina, Waverly TN 47 miles

You see some unusual things on the river sometimes. We were told this used to be a peanut factory.

Yes, these are pelicans. Apparently they started showing up around here 3 years ago.

The part of the river we are in now is a wildlife preserve and is absolutely beautiful.

Cuba Landing Marina will be our home for approximately a month. It is located in the wild life preserve and it is very remote. The marina has a loaner car that we can use, but one of the tires is completely bald and you have to wiggle some wires under the hood occasionally to get it to start. It is a dry county and the nearest town is about 1/2 hour away. We are going to experience country living!

It is beautiful, though and the people are friendly and helpful. Plus the price is really right. Warren and Layla are going back to California for Thanksgiving so we should get to know the lay of the land pretty well while we are here. We are about 1 hour west of Nashville and 2 hours east of Memphis.
