We spent 4 nights at the Rivertowne Marina, Cincinnatti OH. One day we were lucky enough to meet a woman who runs a boat tour out of the marina we were staying in and she drove us into down town Cincinatti. We had a drink at a beautiful hotel - the Omni Hilton.
My cousin Lynne’s son Kyle goes to school and lives in down town Cincinatti and he called while we were there. It worked out well that he and his girlfriend Brittney picked us up from the hotel and brought us back to the marina. We had planned to have Warren and Layla over for dinner that night, so Kyle and Brittney stayed too. Our first official dinner party!
Most of our time was spent at the marina which is not near anything. Fortunately there was an old barge turned bar/restaurant near by, so we spent the days working on the boat a bit and then had somewhere to go for happy hour.
The view from the salon our first night in Cincinatti.
On the way to Cincinatti we stopped in Augusta KY at the
suggestion of the owners of Holiday Point. It is a beautiful, arty little town with an interesting restaurant called the BeeHive from the year 1796. We had lunch and a nice walk around town.
Unfortunately Warren and Layla realized they were having some trouble with their generator there, which led to us spending a couple of extra days in Cincinatti trying to get it fixed.
