Our next destination was Green Turtle Bay in Grand Rivers KY, another 82 miles away. This was too far to travel in one day so we anchored out in between.
We found a beautiful spot behind an island, dropped the hook, turned on the inverter and we were set. I know this is not new technology, but it is still amazing to me to be completely detached from land and have all the comforts of home (no TV, but thanks to Mom and Dad we had original Sherlock Holmes DVDs).
It was so beautiful there that Fuzzball was even compelled to go outside for a walk!
A self-sufficient little world of our own. It was quiet and beautiful and a little bit exciting since it was our first time anchoring with this boat.
Sometimes anchors don’t catch (“bite”) and boats can wind up floating around a bit, but we were just fine.
