January 2004 Raising the Boat

From what we have been told, the boat sank because the previous owner left the boat in the water in the winter with a valve open that should have been closed. The boat froze and slowly sank to the bottom of the river, still tied to the dock. It was a particularly cold January, so she was under water for 2-3 weeks before she could be brought up. A couple of the reasons that this project appealed to us were that there was no structural damage and she sank in fresh water.
